“Bolivar” is a monumental achievement destined to win some major literary prizes. Like most recent books on the North American founders, it assumes that all icons are also flawed creatures.

There are some great chapters in this book like I would say the first 3 or so about Bolivar's early life and the last chapter is excellent. Otherwise the book is a disappointment.
